The Middle Eastern Variable Chapter 2

The Middle-Eastern Variable Chapter 2 (read first chapter)

Pairing: Sheldon/Amy

Disclaimer: Ha! Even if the Prince was in the story, I still don't own this. :(
#
"Noooo! Sheldon!" Screamed a female voice.

There was a loud banging at the door.

"Sheldon?"

"Uuuuhhhnnng."

"Sheldon. Open the door."

"Uhhhg… Nooooooo…" he mumbled.

"Sheldon, I said open the door."

Finally, Sheldon opened his eyes and slowly sat up from his bed.

"What the hell is going on in there, Sheldon? Open up!" said a male's voice still behind the door.

He grudgingly trailed off to his door and clutched the doorknob tightly. "What do you want, Leonard?" He said through gritted teeth.

Leonard's irritated expression seems to say it all. "Sheldon, your infernal screaming just woke up the entire building. What's going on?" Both of his hands rested on his hips.

Sheldon rubbed his eyes with the heels of his palm as he sighed. "Leonard, may I just say, that it is YOU who just woke up the entire Pasadena with your knocking."

His homunculus of a roommate rolled his eyes. "Sheldon, you were shouting 'giddiyup' for at least ten minutes before screaming 'wooh horsey'."

"I don't know what you're talking about," he said as he yawned.

Leonard shook his head and then stepped halfway inside Sheldon's room and had a peek in. "Is Amy in here?"

Sheldon, surprised with Leonard's action, was forced to take a step backward as the door pushed open. "Wha-what are you doing?" He noticed half of his roommate's body was already inside. "Get out. Now."

Satisfied with what he saw, he took a step back outside the room and pointed two fingers back and forth from his eyes to Sheldon's. "I'm watching you." He turned and started to march back to his room. "No more cowboy movies before bed."

Sheldon, still confused with what just happened, watched Leonard as he went back to his room. A few more seconds and he closed his own door and went back to bed.

Five minutes after tucking himself back to bed, he found himself staring at the ceiling. His thoughts are whirling with visions of horses, camels, cacti and sand. His ears are ringing with the sound of clinking spurs and the clanking of animal heels. As he closed his eyes, he saw the face of a man whose head is covered with a black and white checkered-scarf. His eyes shot back open and he tried to shake the image off.

Sheldon pulled the covers off on top of him as he stood and went out to the living room. He opened the lights, went straight to his desk and opened his laptop. He'd seen that face before. He's darn sure he'd seen it.

He quickly logged on to his Facebook account without hesitation. It's not Howard's business if he chose to use his account or not. A few more clicks while browsing Amy's photo album and Sheldon froze.

On the screen is a picture of Amy sitting on a camel as it was trying to stand up. Sitting behind her and holding her by the hips was a guy wearing a Keffiyeh and Thawb ensemble. Below the photo was a comment made ten hours ago:

Amy, I will be visiting Pasadena this weekend. I hope you still haven't forgotten about the engagement.

Sheldon quickly shut his laptop, almost causing the screen to crack. He stared blankly into space as his lips quivered uncontrollably.

A sound escaped from him, almost inaudible, as his head shook. "No..."

The next moment, he grabbed his windbreaker and stormed out their apartment without even changing his from pajamas.

End note: Told you I'll be posting this next chapter. :)

A Keffiyeh is the Arab man's head dress/scarf and the Thawb is the ankle-length garment they usually wear in the middle-east.

Reviews are accepted with love and squees. They fuel me two write the next chapter sooner. :3

The Middle-Eastern Variable

Paring: Sheldon/Amy

Summary: Everything is going along smoothly for Pasadena's favorite power couple until someone from Amy's past decided to claim their "unfinished business". Yes, it is who you think it is. Rating may change, depending on the writer's mood for the next chapters.

Sand. There's sand everywhere. A small breeze just passed through and came some tumbling weeds along. It's quite peculiar to see some in the desert since most of the time, tumbling weeds are only in seen in the Western setting.

The sun is set high above, illuminating everything. Some randomly sprawled cacti can be seen casting their shadow over the ever dry land. Nearby, a shadow of a hand just twitched.

"Where. Is. She." A man, more than six-feet tall, was intently looking at the beast in front of him. His right hand slowly reached for the gun kept at his side.

"Oh look, Princess, " he gently stepped down from the two-humped camel, leaving his hostage with both of her hands still tied behind her back and her mouth still gagged, "the Sheriff has come to rescue you. Charming. Tell me, how did you manage to reach us with that lanky creature you call a horse?"

"Release her, Faisal. She's mine." He swiftly grabbed the gun and raised it, aiming at the Prince who is now in front of him.

The gun didn't seem to alarm him as he went closer to the Sheriff. Smirking, he said, "Since when did she belong to you, Cooper?"

"I will count to three. Give her to me or I will shoot the bejeesus out of you." Sheriff Cooper flicked his thumb over the gun, making a clicking sound. "I mean it."

"Oh? Is that so?" The Arab Prince said as he unnoticeably reached for the handle of his sword. "Heads up, Cowboy!" In one rapid motion, Faisal pulled out the sword and aimed it pass Sheldon's neck.

As per reflex, Sheldon tilted his head backwards to avoid contact from the blade. At the same time, the sound of a gunshot echoed around them and both men were rendered frozen.

End note: Well, I guess this is the first official Shamy story to ever include this guy in the story. Here's the Shamy/Faisal story that I promised! :D

Please review. And there's another chapter up so please say what you think about this first before proceeding there. Haha. I'm blabbering again.

The one that got away chapter 2

A/N: It was nice to receive such reviews! Thank you! And yeah, I know how sad this made a lot of people. It did make me sad too. Try imagining yourself listening to the song as you play out the sad scenes that you plan to add to this fic. I literally cried for a few minutes. Anyway, here you go, Chapter 2.

I do not own BBT. Same as always.

"What's this?" Amy asked as Sheldon handed her a velvet bag that seems to contain a small box.

Sheldon just shrugged. "I suggest you try opening it first before you call me a selfish, self-centered person again." He took a bite into the Alfredo he prepared as Amy took out the box from the bag.

"Sheldon, as much as I wanted to believe that this is something sincerely…" She opened the box and was stunned at what she saw inside. She gently picked up the chain bracelet and placed the box down at the table.

"You lost your bracelet when I told you to disinfect your arm. I think it's only suitable that I replace what's been lost. And since it's your birthday, I think it's only appropriate I give you a gift—a non-optional social convention that I must do." Sheldon grabbed her hands and showed her the train-shaped charm studded with an emerald by the pipe dangling from the bracelet. "See right there? It says 'allergic to penicillin'. I had them write it there for it to have the same value as your lost one."

Amy didn't know what to feel at the moment. The last time Sheldon gave her a piece of jewelry, it was because of their first fight as a couple. This time, she's pretty sure there were no arguments. And, it's her freaking birthday. The bracelet got lost because it's her fault. She forgot about it when she took it off and they never found it again.

"I… I don't know what to say." She said as she's still in awe with the bracelet.

"If you don't like it, I could always ask them to have it replaced. Would you be interested in—"

"No, Sheldon," she looked at him and then patted his hand. "It's perfect." She wiped her eyes as tears started to fall on her face.

Sheldon, surprised with her reaction, scooted closer to her in the couch. "Why are you crying? I thought you said it's perfect but then you are now excreting salty droplets from your glands."

"No, no, don't worry." She tried to smile but it made her face scrunch and look lopsided. "Just tears of joy."

"Do you want me to…"

"To what?"

"Do you want me to hug you?" His face looked sincere.

Amy was suddenly taken aback by what he just said. "Really? Are you sure this time?"

"If that will make you stop crying, then why not."

Amy threw herself at Sheldon and hugged him with both hands, resting her weight on his. She could feel how warm he is and she cried even more.

Sheldon slowly place his hands around her and slowly glided his hands on her back. "Aww, who's a good birthday girl?"

She looked up at him, still keeping the happy-but-bawling face.

"Oh, wait a sec. I almost forgot." He let go of her and reached for the box on the table. He handed it to her, smiling as she slowly reached for it. "Open it again."

Amy took the box and did what she was told. She saw another bracelet which looked exactly like hers, although the charm dangling from it is a crown. No—a tiara. Confused, she picked it up and studied the jewelry. A blue gem (perhaps, turquoise?) studded in the middle. "Mysophobic." She looked at Sheldon, who was nodding as he smiled. "But my thought regarding cleanliness is not bordering at the psychotic, unlike you."

"Of course it's not yours. It's mine." He took it from her hand and then tried wearing them on.

"Seriously, you're going to have the tiara one?"

"Why? Is there any problem?"

"No, no. It's rather…. cute." Sheldon rolled his eyes.

"I bought these because they are so-called pair bracelets and I thought maybe I could have one too. And yes, before you inquire about you having the train charm while this one has the tiara, I think it is best for me to have the tiara because," he looked at her intently, "it will always reminds me of you. Of course given that I have an eidetic memory, I will never forget about you. But it will serve as a reminder that there's an Amy in my life who's working on brains and has been on the cover of a scientific journal."

"Sheldon, you know that I still hate you for that."

He wrinkled his eyebrows as a sort of confusion and protest. "How come? You even kissed me when I got you the tiara. I let you kiss me there in front of Penny. Wasn't that enough?"

"Oh, you know I'm just mocking you," her smile becoming even more genuine. It was as if on cue, both of them went back to their cuddling position. "Sheldon, thanks for the food, and for the gift."

"You're always welcome, Amy Farrah Fowler." He kissed the top of her head and rested his chin on the same spot.

He definitely needs to know how he could hide the bracelet from of his friends.

End note: It's not sad now, right? Sweet and fluffy, I suppose? For those wondering, this is a flashback scene which happened a good year ago, if we're to consider the timeline of this fic. Most the next chapters will be like this. Try listening to Katy Perry's song. You might have a clue on how the story will go. (Oops, spoiler alert!)

Reviews are much appreciated! Shamy love ftw! :3

Leonard swung the door open and let himself into 4A. Sheldon was staring blankly into the television. It's 6:35 am on a Saturday and he is halfway into an episode of Doctor Who.

"Sh-Sheldon?" He walked closer into the living room and sat beside his former roommate.

He didn't move. He didn't even have another tantrum over getting disturbed while watching.

He noticed Sheldon's eyes were resting on the screen, but he's just staring at it. Suddenly, he spoke, eyes still fixed on the screen.

"The Doctor must be happy to see Amy again."

"What do you mean?" Leonard asked, trying to sound gentler. It was the first time Sheldon spoke for the past few days. Leonard knew that at times like this, his normal aggressiveness won't help.

"Don't you think they should've ended up together, Leonard?" He turned his head towards Leonard, tilting it awkwardly.

Leonard didn't know how to respond. "Well ah… I don't really think that uh…"

Sheldon spun his head back at the television screen. His eyes may be open but his thoughts might've entered the TARDIS already.

"Amy belongs to the doctor. She belongs to him. Nobody else. But she had to leave him," he dead-panned.

Leonard was confused. He knew that Rory is married to Amy and that Amy was the 11th Doctor's companion, and that Rory was jealous of the Doctor before. But Sheldon never once focused on the relationship aspect of the show. Since when was he interested in…Wheels started to turn inside Leonard's head for a moment and everything went into place.

Amy belongs to Doctor Sheldon Cooper. She is not for anyone. But she had to leave him.

There was a tug in Leonard's chest as he choked back all those emotions he had last year. At the back of his mind, he knew that day will soon recur.

This is that day.

He recalled how Sheldon, the once-robotic man they all knew, cried in front of everyone.

Leonard didn't stop him. In fact, he was even sobbing along Sheldon that day as he held Penny, who definitely cried the longest. Raj wept too, and Howard, that darn bastard, just covered his face and only wiped his eyes whenever it gets watery as he comforted Bernadette.

All of them cried. No exceptions.

All of them cried at Amy's funeral.

Author's notes: This has been bugging me for more than a week. I know this place lacks of Shamy fanfics and it is our mission to fill the Shamyfodder. I'm sorry if the story seems so tragic but whenever the song will play in my phone, plot bunnies keep on nibbling my brain.

Please forgive the errors. My fanfic writing time is always at 2-4 am in our country.

"Uhm... Really? And I mean REALLY?" Disproving 5.12 Post Hocs

Fair warning: This can go gif-cah-razy.

I was trolling along some thread when I landed on a link that led to a tumblr post. I reblogged it , saying these gifs depicts my reaction as I read the post:

and then this:

......................
I know I shouldn't be doing this, since it is against my vow not to bash shippers that are against my beliefs. But this is not bashing, rather I want to respond to the questions imposed there:

1. WHY (as someone else mentioned on here…) did he say the future reference and show her the koala face?
-Oh, I dunno... We all know Sheldon is the know-it-all type and always kind of "impart" factoids and trivia every time. Remember when he was at Raj's place and that he asked Priya if she knows where the expression "toast" came from? He just wanted to show everyone that he KNOWS where it was from, and that he wanted everyone to know about it too.
In this case, since they were talking about his Koala face and how Amy "would see right through that" (kudos on Sheldon knowing that his girlfriend knows his Koala Face).

He wanted to give Penny context as to what was his Koala Face. That simple. It was for context, and that he wants to brag about how his Koala Face looks like.

2. WHY did he seemingly care less about amy and what she was saying at the table but he completely focused on and listened to penny?
-Hahahaha. Okay, now it's getting funnier once you think about it. Seemingly care less? Boy, who are we talking about here? It's Sheldon, right? The (and I quote) shallow, self-centered person (end quote) that asked for "any new business" on their date. When Amy said her good news, he was self-centered enough to interject and focus on his own "good news".

We have seen his condescension enough from the show to know that it's very Sheldon of him to think that his field is much more superior than the other, and even thinking of himself as the superior one. In his head, he thinks that biology is just an ordinary science, much as from the season 4 finale when he said he failed to see the distinction between Amy and Bernadette's field (obviously thinking they are less superior to Physics and that they're simply biology).
When Penny was asking what's wrong with him, of course we can still hear how he thinks of Biology being eeky and squishy. Focus? Of course they're having a conversation and the context of their conversation is different from his and Amy's. Take note that in their conversation he was trying to dismiss her suggestions (clearly, dismissing is a light form of caring less) on being a better boyfriend, and I quote:

Penny:Honey, she's upset. You're her boyfriend. You have to at least try to be excited by the things she's excited by.
Sheldon: What if they simply don't excite me?
Penny: Well, smile and think about Koalas.
Sheldon (shaking his head): She'd see right through that. We go to the zoo all the time. She knows my Koala Face... And for future references, it's this (does his uberly awesomely cute koala face).

3.WHY did he fixate on penny while his “gf” was hugging him?
-Uuuuuh.... You mean this one:

as comparison to this:

You call that fixated? He looked at Penny then shook his head then admitted defeat, saying that the Tiara was too much. He said that, mind you, because he only wanted to buy Amy a gift that would shortcut him to her "forgiveness", and is not expecting that she would love the gift so much they would be doing that cutesy PDA.

4.WHY did Amy have Penny crown her and not her “bf”?
-
What does this have to do with it being a Shenny moment? Of course Amy asked Penny because Penny has XX chromosomes and does know how to put on a Tiara. Also, it was Penny who said that Sheldon got her a gift. Yes, Penny may have crowned her but who did she thanked? Did she kissed Penny in her fit of euphoria? No! She kissed Sheldon, the person who got her the gift.

5.WHY did he go to Penny’s place and not just show up and surprise Amy at her own?
-Because he knows Amy is still upset with him. He would easily be rejected if he goes there and apologize. Also, it was obvious they planned it. Penny helped him fetch a gift for her and that she might have even suggested that they ask Amy to come. Actually, it was Penny's plan, after all... to make Sheldon apologize to Amy.

Sheldon: What time did you tell Amy to be here?
Penny: Eight o' clock.
.....
Sheldon: Under what pretext did you lure her here?
Penny: I said, "Hey, wanna come over and hang out?"
Sheldon: Good... good. If you said something clever she might get suspicious.

6.WHY is their date night at the cheesecake factory?
-When dining out, Sheldon only trusts Penny to handle his food. Also, we haven't seen any other food establishment where Amy and Sheldon had been. Typical of Sheldon, he doesn't want to locate somewhere else to dine out with because that indicates change and he's much more used to dining out in TCF. Amy, who's been seen hanging out with the guys at the establishment, might have proposed that they have their date there, since she could see her bestie. Also...:

Penny: Oooh, look who's out on a date? Pasadena's favorite power couple :SHAMY.
Sheldon: And that (tips head towards Penny) is the answer to the question: What is wrong with eating at the Cheesecake factory?

From the looks of it, Sheldon might've even argued that they eat someplace else and Amy might've won the debate on where they should dine that evening. Looks like he was a bit opposed, but still he succumbed and there they are, having a date there.

7.WHY did sheldon look hurt/offended by penny blowing off the idea of them together so quickly?

-I am quoting what some of the posts in fanforum mentioned because their posts expresses what I dearly wanted to say:

from
WeBuiltThePyramids:

"And Sheldon saying she'd be lucky to have him? He thinks any woman would be lucky to have him; he thought it was his "sexual prowess" was what kept Bernadette and Howard together, he said that because he's that narcissistic...
...The adoration that he thinks everyone ought to have for him proves how self centered he is; the fact that he has strong enough feelings to admit to them; that he can't even use his mind training to deny, shows how much he feels for Amy."

Rockyele:
"Sheldon feels he would be the "dream man" for any woman...
...and what he does immediately after? dismissively snort and deny!, as saying: "Sorry, but I'm sooooo out of your league!"

8. WHY did the man working assume they were a couple and ask about a ring?

-Ugh. Of course, the guy was only assuming. He's been selling jewelry for God-knows-how-long and from his experience, most of the time a man and a woman go to a jewelry store together is either in a romantic relationship, out to buy the fiance an engagement ring or the man buying a necklace for his wife. People assume based on their field of experiences.

9.WHY did penny smile so happily instead of mock sheldon over his conductor comment?

-Simply because she thinks it's cute and amusing that he bought a pocket watch just so he would look like a train conductor. It's like when your trickster friend doing a prank on your other friend and you watch by the sideline, finding yourself getting amused and even shaking your head.

10. WHY did penny take him to a jewelry store (presumably because he was content with what they found at sears but i think she wanted to drop hints?)
-HINTS? Uhm, hints of what? She wanted Sheldon to buy her jewelry?
Sheldon, being a practical man that he thinks he is, though that a humidifier would be enough for Amy. I've read from the taping report something about Sheldon mentioning why he chose a humidifier as a gift but I kind of forgot why. But anyway...

Sheldon: I don't think there's anything in this Jewelry Store that Amy would appreciate more than the humidifier we were just looking at at Sears.
Penny: Oh my God. Now I know how I sounded to you when I say stupid stuff.
Sheldon: Ooh, a pocket watch.
Amy: I don't think Amy wants a pocket watch.
Sheldon: Nah, but maybe she wants a man with a pocket watch.
Penny: Still sane stupid stuff.

Penny thinks that a humidifier is a stupid idea. Sheldon thinks otherwise and knows that Amy will appreciate a humidifier. Of course, Sheldon doesn't know anything about giving gifts and that Penny knows that Jewelry is waaaaaaaay better than a humidifier and that it is the perfect gift for any girl.

11. WHY did it seem to me like S/P was the couple of those scenes and not S/A?
-Honey, it's because that's what you want to see. You're watching that episode on a Shenny shipper's point-of-view. Or you may claim you're simply watching it for what it is, you can't ignore that once you favor something, you tend to see things the way you want to see it. Regardless of what

to quote genki-escapist:
"Wanting something to happen doesn't have to mean insisting it's already there when it clearly isn't."
"As I said, it's one thing to prefer something to happen in a show, but to say it's already there when it's not is an entirely different matter."

and as Jim Parsons said in that actor interview: it's [Shamy] already happening regardless.

12.WHY do people think Shenny fans are delusional when stuff like this happens? We didn’t write it, we just see it
(I do think they will happen. I am convinced as well that Sheldon likes Penny. She is still in the denial stage….)

Uhm, you might want to read most of the things that I wrote above for this to be answered. It speaks for itself. It's like Post Hoc Ergo Proctor Hoc (after this, therefore because of this), with the pattern:When A occured, then B occured. Therefore, A was caused by B. Such example is the Rooster Syndrome-- believing that the rooster’s crowing causes the sun to rise.

I guess I was able to rest my case there.

And for my own personal enjoyment... I would be placing this here. :D

Now, tell me if this was a S/P moment.
Don't get me wrong guys. I loved how Penny and Sheldon were in that episode, but I just explained how I see those parts right there that were set by the questions. I'm no Penny hater-- I just that I don't really see them having that tone of romance between them.

Quoting Todd VanDerWerff:
"TV teaches us that any time a man and a woman are in some sort of relationship with any sort of spark to it, that man and that woman will inevitably begin sleeping together, and I think that's what the Sheldon/Penny shippers are responding to, but The Big Bang Theory is showing us that that doesn't necessary have to be the case. Here's hoping the show chases that impulse more than it chases the impulse to stick its characters in boring, stock sitcom plots."

Koala Face

Koala Face

Pairing: Sheldon/Amy

Rating: K+

Author's note: Oh, I just wanted to write about how Sheldon had his Koala Face. I just love how sweet Jim Parsons looked like and how Amy could tell his koala face. I've waited weeks to see that koala smile ever since I've read the taping report for that episode.

Same warnings apply. I do not own BBT. I only love that show, and this wonderful pairing. I ship them so hard. Sorry.

"Speaking of which… Amy, since I already know that you do not have anything planned tomorrow, I propose you accompany me to take my flu shot."

The statement came out of nowhere. Well, actually, they were talking about Leonard and how he ruined his bathroom once again that week.

"I am scheduled to have my shot taken at 4:30 and I will be expecting you to be there before 4pm."

"Very well then." She sighed. "I'll see you tomorrow." Amy closed her window and signed off.

#

Sheldon was cringing as the needle pricked the skin on his arm. He winced at the pain while Amy held both of his hands.

"I should've just bought the nasal spray."

"Sheldon," Amy said adoringly as she patted his hand, "we both know that there's a high risk that you will get the flu if you tried the non-injected kind, since it contains weakened but still live viruses."

"True." He said as he slowly opened his eyes and turned to the nurse. "Alright. Amy, your turn."

"What?" She asked, confused.

"I said it's your turn."

"Uhh… I don't think it's necessary for me to have my shot today."

"Nonsense." Sheldon stood up from his spot while his other hand pressed the cotton covering the injected area. "Move over there. Nurse, I'm sure you still have plenty more shots available."

"Yes. We still have more."

"See? They still have some spare." He took a seat next to her on the other side.

"Sheldon, I need to tell you something." Amy looked as if she was about to cry.

"What? What is it?" He asked, worry suddenly filling him.

She first bit her lip before speaking in a soft voice. "I'm… I'm afraid of needles."

"Don't worry, just squeeze my hands like so," Sheldon grabbed both of her hands and squeezed them really tight, "and I assure you it won't really hurt that much. Although, it would be best if you don't do it real hard on my left hand since I just had my shot on that arm."

"Alright. I'll do it."

She was still stunned at how much Sheldon was holding on to her—it was very unlike of him to express that kind of physical contact. But she must admit, she would take all of the vaccine shots in the world just for him to hold her like that again. As the needle pierced through her skin, she was biting her lip really hard he might taste blood real soon. At the same time, she was now holding Sheldon's hands and she squeezed them as hard as she could. But she hasn't noticed yet Sheldon's hand being entwined with her fingers. All she knows is that needles, no matter what size they are, can hurt. That's why she always apologizes to each and every hamster, mice, gerbil, monkey and rabbit she has used a syringe on.

"There you go, Ms. Fowler. All done." The nurse immediately covered the area with a cotton and placed a tape over it. "I'll just prepare some papers for you to give to the clerk." She smiled at the couple as she stood.

"Told you, it wasn't so bad." He was now moving his thumb back and forth over her thumb.

"Wise words coming from someone who also winced during his shot." A smile crept on her face, and she squeezed his hand once more. "Thank you. I guess you really did have the agreement well planned."

"Of course! What do you expect?" He smiled proudly, taking her last statement as a well-deserved praise.

#

After the couple has paid for their shots, they found themselves walking along the street near a zoo.

Sheldon noticed that even if he was sure he'd given Amy enough support as she took the flu shot, she's still in a sullen mood. He was worried that she might be distressed because she just admitted that she's afraid of needles.

"Amy, may I just mention that admitting your fear with needles is not really socially unacceptable. In fact, studies showed that almost one out of four people are afraid of needles or even the slightest pricking."

She looked at him, her eyes still hinting sad. "Yes Sheldon, I know that. I'm very much aware of that trivia. Thank you for helping me try to overcome that fear."

"It's just right, since you helped me overcome something too. With my Ornitophobia." He smiled at her weakly," And with the mailman. I guess now we're even."

"I guess," her tone, still lacking enthusiasm.

Sheldon is now starting to worry about her growing sulk. He was now thinking of another way to cheer her up and noticed that they are only a few feet away from the zoo entrance. He looked at his watch and noticed it was just 5pm. Dinner won't start in a few more hours.

"Amy, would you like to see some monkeys?"

And with that, a smile suddenly crossed her face and her mood started to lighten up. "Yes, I would love that."

"Then let's go." Her reply made him excited that he took her hand and dragged her into the zoo. "I want to see if I could find other birds that look like Lovey Dovey."

#

They passed the bird sanctuary and had to leave immediately after Sheldon freaked out from seeing a bluejay. He kept calling the bird Lovey Dovey and asking for the zookeepers to give him back his pet. Amy pulled him out of the area as she shook her head. Now, she's just determined in seeing some fuzzy monkeys. Their department had to keep all the other monkeys and some were infected with communicable diseases so she had no chance to visit some of them.

They reached the area where the monkeys and other primates were hanging out. For the first time that day, Amy was starting to feel better. She was not expecting to have that flu shot today and not even expecting to be pricked by virus-loaded needles. If only Sheldon wasn't holding her hand too much, she would've exploded into tears right on the spot.

"It's getting late. We should probably get home." Sheldon said as he looked at his watch.

"Fine." She muttered under her breath, slightly disappointed. Even if she still wants to watch how the little monkey with the blonde highlights will finish his bag of peanuts, she knew well enough not to mess with her boyfriend's schedule. Come to think of it, he did offer that they visit the monkeys. The thought of Sheldon putting a little effort in their relationship made her smile and made her want to kiss him right now.

The couple left the primates area only to find themselves passing by a crowd.

"What's that they're looking at?"

"I don't know. I'm guessing someone fell inside the crocodile shelter."

They both went closer to the huddle formed by the marsupial station.

"Excuse me, but what's going on?" Sheldon asked the kid in front of him.

"Oh, they're feeding the koala bears. Aren't they cute?"

"Koala bears? What? Are they cross breeds of koalas and bear?"

"No, Sheldon. I think the kid has mistakenly referred to the cute marsupial as a 'Koala bear'." She was starting to stand on her toes and placed her hands on Sheldon's shoulder for balance as she took a peak of the said animal.

"Thank goodness. I though they made crossbreeds." He turned his head to look at some of the contained animals inside. He spotted one of them and his eyes went wide. He doesn't really know why, but as soon as he saw those round ears, those tiny fingers holding a eucalyptus branch and that cute nose, he suddenly become fond of that creature. "They do look like little bears," he whispered.

Amy looked up at him and was about to ask him what he just said when she noticed how his lips are starting to curl upward. She then tried to locate where his attention was focused and saw that he was looking at the little Koala on the floor, and has just started to munch on the little eucalyptus branch it was clutching. Amy can't help but to smile too. "Yes, they do look like bears. Little bears."

After what seemed like an eternity (or just after the koala finished his serving of eucalyptus), Sheldon snapped out of his dreamy look and impulsively looked at his watch. "Oh dear! I can't believe it's 6:30 already! Let's go, Amy!"

Amy silently obeys as they left the zoo. The two took a cab since it would be faster and Sheldon hardly wants to miss his dinner. As she sat next to him, she tried to recall how Sheldon looked like as he observed the koala. That smile was sweet and she thought he looked cuter with his face lit up.

As soon as they get to the apartment, she would propose that they visit the zoo before their dates. She knows Sheldon won't disagree; he's obviously getting fond of those marsupials anyway… and she wants to see his genuine (what could she call it?) Koala face again.

Hey, would you look at that… Next Thursday is date night. Amy hopes time will fly.

The Serendipitous Journal Retrieval Chapter 3

Once again, I do not own this fabulous fandom. I don't even earn a single peso from this... not that I care.

Chapter 3: To knock is to know

As Alex climbed upstairs, a beam of light came through the nearest door. There were voices — familiar voices—coming from the inside. Curiosity taking over, he slowed down and tried to be as discreet as possible. At the last step, he inched his way towards the source of the commotion. He slowly reached for the doorknob and slightly pushed it open, giving him a peek inside.

On the bed were his parents, obviously tired from their trip. His mother's head was resting on his dad's shoulder, both of their backs leaning against the bed frame. Even from afar, he noticed how his father gently stroked her hair as they are snuggling. Take note that this is not the first time he accidentally walked in on them like this, not that they're doing something *ehem* inappropriate. To be honest, he thinks it's sweet in a sorta kind of way. But of course, he will never admit that to anyone... unless that person offers him a bucket of his Grandma's fried chicken.

"Amy?"

"Yes, Sheldon?"

Beat.

"I love you."

"I love you too." She looked up and smiled at him. He lowered his head to kiss her. Oh ghads, not again.

"Oh, for the love of…" Alex immediately pulled the door closed. He's had enough action for today.

Two heads turned towards the door.

"Is he gone?"

"I think so. Based from that loud banging, we might have scarred him for the rest of his puberty."

"That ought to teach him to knock."

Alex was grunting his head off as went to the next room. Why does it always have to be me?

Come to think of it, he did inflict it on himself. His father always told him to knock first before he entered any room. He always laughed at the way his father would knock. He can still recall the moments when his Aunt Penny would interject in between his father's knocking pattern. Speaking of his Aunt Penny, he wondered if the Hofstadters did go to Nebraska. Hmmm, must ask dad at dinner.

The room is practically filled with boxes. Lots and lots of boxes. Most of them are dusty and closed. Some even have holes on the side, obviously attacked by lingering pests. Dad's definitely going to have a heart attack when he sees this.

Hello, Dolly! He spotted some sort of a hat, covered by a thick layer of dust.

He tiptoed as he reached for the ten gallon hat at the top of the box layers by the window. Covering his face, he dragged the hat towards him as particles started falling on him. The hat felt unusually heavy, since all that was covering it were years of dust and whatnots. Suddenly, something fell on his head and hit him right at the face.

Ow! What the hell was that? Clutching the hat with his right hand, he dusted himself off with the other and looked for fallen object.

He spotted a dusty notebook lying a few inches from his feet.

End note: Procrastination and self-inflicted stress does not mix well, especially when your head is spinning with ideas for the next few chapters. Sorry if they don't add up much yet. Don't worry, I'm fairly sure the next chapter will be up really soon and this whole thing will finally be related to the summary.

Your reviews fuel my imagination and my willingness to continue. Thanks for the kind words and support.

So, what do you think? :D

The Serendipitous Journal Retrieval Chapter 2

Again, I do not own BBT nor the characters in the show. Well, except for Alex…

Chapter 2: Hankey-Pankey Delay

Bzzzzzt!

Mary Cooper, who was engrossed with dredging the milk-marinated chicken cutlets in flour, was startled by the sound of the doorbell.

Bzzzzt-bzzzzzzzzt!

“I’m coming, I’m coming,” she said as she got to the kitchen sink and rinsed her hands. She picked up a towel on her way to the door.

“Now who could this be…”As she turned the doorknob, familiar faces greeted her. “Oh, Shelly bean!” With no hesitation, she gave her son a hug.

Sheldon, although surprised by the action, hugged back. “Oh, mom. I missed you too.”

Alex rolled his eyes at the sight but his lips twitched slightly, trying hard not to let his lips curl upward.

Amy smiled as she looked at her husband and his mother. “Good evening, Mom. It’s definitely nice to see you again.”

Mary let go of her son and also gave Amy a hug. “Aww. Good to see you too, Amy.” As she let go of her daughter-in-law, she turned to her grandson. “Now Alex, you know I only got to see you a few times a year, so you better give your grandma a hug or you won’t get a present this year.” She raised an eyebrow as she held her arms in from of her, awaiting a hug from Alex.

He looked at his parents, who were trying hard not to laugh and then looked away from him. “Fine,” he breathed. Mary leaned closer and gave her grandson a warm embrace.

Surprisingly, he placed his arms around her and squeezed her tighter than she would have expected. “I missed you too, Grandma,” he admitted.

They both let go from the embrace and there was a short awkward silence. “So, you guys seem to be a bit late.”

“Right… that,” he trailed. “You see mother,” he kept his face serious as he looked at Amy, who was biting her lips and trying to avoid eye contact.

“Mom and Dad played Mario Kart for at least an hour before we left.” Alex gave an annoyed expression. “Well, they played for, like a round or two, before they stood up and went back to their room.” He crossed his arms as he leaned on the closed door.

Mary gave her son and his wife a suspicious look. “Oh, you two. Ever since your wedding day you just can’t keep it in, now can’t yah?”

“No, really! We were—“he turned his wife again who was now looking down on the floor and was hiding her grin, “playing, and then we lost track of the time—”

“Oh hush,” Mary waved her arm, dismissing his last statement. “What’s important is that God brought you three here safe and sound. Now, y’all must be worn out from that trip. I got plenty of ice-cold Yoohoo in the fridge.” She headed inside as the three followed her in.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Alex, where in the world did you get that darn hat?” Mary gave a perplexed expression as she handed him a bottle of Yoohoo. Sheldon and Amy were upstairs, busily unpacking their bags. They decided to spend their holidays in Galveston this year after being pestered by Mary since Thanksgiving.

He held the hat at the brim and tipped it, more like a salute. “Ain’t it cute on me, Grandma?” He asked while imitating a Texan accent.

“No, you look worse than your Uncle Georgey when he got home from that Gala at the Bensons’ ranch. And I tell you, that gala wasn’t a pretty sight when it ended.”

“Aww, come on Grandma. It can’t be worse than that.”

“Oh, don’t believe me? Just ask your father.”

“Nevermind,” Alex trailed as he took off the hat for the first time since they arrived in Galveston.

“You know what? You can go upstairs to your Uncle Georgey’s old room and you can check out some of his stuff and see if you might like ‘em”.  Alex’s expression softened. That seemed to cheer the little bugger up.

“Really? Can I go check them out right now?” Alex stood up and motioned towards the stairs.

“Sure, Go ahead. The food won’t be ready for the next hour anyway.”

“Thanks, Grandma.” Alex smiled at her before proceeding upstairs.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

End note: Things will get even prettier in the next chapter. I don’t wanna spoil what’s going to happen ahead but I’ll be updating again soon. I haven’t checked for errors that much in this chapter since I’m typing this up in my spare time between my class and PE. And yes, Sheldon and Amy pretty much changed ever since Alex was born. That round of Mario Kart game really turn couples on, if you know what I mean. You’ll read all about the mysteries that surround these two soon in the later chapters.

Thanks for reading! Reviews are highly appreciated! <3

Fanfic: The Serendipitous Journal Retrieval

Title: The Serendipitous Journal Retrieval

Pairing: Sheldon/Amy

Summary: Twelve year-old Alexander Isaac Cooper has no choice but to spend their holidays in Galveston. One evening, his curiosity lead him to a journal that once belonged to his dad. S/A, minor L/P, H/B, Raj/OC

Rating: T, just to be sure. It'll be for the future chapters.

Disclaimer: I do not own BBT, any of its characters, except Alex and other future OCs.

Author's notes: This story has been nagging me for the past few days. I initially wanted to write a Shamy fic with Prince Faisal interactions but this plot bunny kept on crawling up in my head. I've been spending almost my entire holiday vacation in Fan Forum and I got plenty of ideas from the thread. So, if you're a big Shamy shipper, head down there and join the fun! :D

Oh, and English is not my first language so please forgive any errors that are present.

Chapter 1: Mario Kart Agreement

"Alexander Isaac Cooper, haven't I told you to get rid of that preposterous-looking hat?" Amy stopped halfway down the hall as she saw her son wearing a hat that might have come from Steve Irwin's Torn by the Hungry Vulture from the Outback collection. "I admit, I'm not a fashion aficionado, but that is simply horrible!"

Alex looked up from his Mario Kart game to his mother. "Mom, relax. It's not like this hat's emitting gamma rays bent on destroying half of my brain cells." He turned back to the screen and resumed playing.

"Amy, just let him wear whatever he feels like wearing." Sheldon, who was holding an unopened can of Diet Coke from the fridge, gave his wife a sly smile.

Confused, she turned from the hallway towards her husband. "I thought we had that discussion a few days ago regarding the disposal of that ridiculous hat of his," her voice just a bit louder than a whisper. "You were even persistent on getting it incinerated."

He absentmindedly opened the beverage in his hand. "Oh Amy dear, you may be a neurobiologist but living with someone like Leonard for more than a decade gave me more psychoanalytic advantage."

"Defend."

"I simply told him," he took a swig from the can and looked back up to his wife, "that he could keep the blasted hat if he would behave throughout the duration of our stay in Texas."

Amy took the can from his hand and drank from it. Years ago, this action may have reduced Sheldon into screaming his head off and demanding kilos of penicillin.

"Genius." Smirking, she handed him back the half-empty can.

He looked at her offered hand for a moment before taking back his beverage. Amy then took a seat next to her son, who was sitting at the farther left-side of the couch where Howards used to sit whenever he's visiting 4A.

He walked towards them on the couch, sat on his usual spot and drank the rest of the can's contents. He turned his head towards Amy who's sitting just beside him, both of his eyebrows raised. "You're married to a brilliant man. Why do you seem surprised?"

Alex, still oblivious to his parents' presence beside him, threw his hands up as he finished the track. "Finally! I wanna see the look on Uncle Howard's face once he sees I beat his record!"

Amy looked back at Sheldon, smiled and shook her head. "One more round—you and me, then we'll leave for Galveston. Deal?"

"Deal. Winner calls shotgun."

End note: Say hello to the Coopers! Alex was named after Alexander Flemming for his serendipitous discovery, and after Sir Isaac Newton. I badly want to write more on this chapter but it's less than four hours before 2012 and the noise around me is starting to get louder and louder. I'm suddenly having some sort of writer's block. Happy New Year, guys!

Forgive me if Sheldon and Amy are a bit out-of-character here. As I said, English is not my first language. Don't worry, there will be more chapters in the future.

P.S. So, what do you think? Reviews are highly appreciated. :D

(no subject)

Okay. Not putting in to detail but my "fangirl syndrome" is very malignant and I can't seem to control it.

Now, I'm obsessed with Jim Parsons and the rest of the Big Bang theory. Well, I kinda got a bit "obsessed" with that fandom before but I was able to control it... rather I was still addicted to the HP universe.

In my first semester as a 3rd year student in UP Diliman, I toned down a bit because I was occupied with schoolwork and I had little time to browse tumblr (my ultimate source of pottergasm). Also, something (rather, someone) came into my life that made it *ehem* interesting. Okay, let's just say I only realized my attraction to that "something/someone" it on September and I'm that truly crazy to be head-over-heels for him. One thing that kinda connects us together is how we both geek-out whenever it comes to Big Bang Theory. When I kinda thought he cannot reciprocate the feelings that I have for him and I think I might have only imagined that there was "something" between us (honestly, that guy can't take hints) when in reality, that "something" did not exist.

So, after realization struck, my mind automatically turns on its defense mechanisms. The displacement of my frustration over not knowing if he does feel any attraction towards me has come to sublimation. These impulses that I sorta had are vent out on immersing myself into a fandom. I don't know why chose to get uberly obsessed with BBT rather than continue my HP geekiness... Okay, I think I remember now. While browsing in 9gag, I saw a post about Sheldon having a girlfriend. Of course, I was all "Finally! I thought he's never ask Amy. Ever." But at that time, the latest episode I saw was of their Halloween Special. So I downloaded the rest of the episodes, watched them on my free day and from then on, I got hooked.

Recently, I was on my hunt to find shirts that Sheldon might wear or may have worn already. I tried looking for superhero shirts in a nearby mall but the designs that were available from the original DC apparels were a bit dull. Of course, that was on the male section. Over the female teens section, they only have Wonder woman. I was attracted to one of the shirts because it looked awesome even though Sheldon would never wear any shirts designed with the female members of the Justice League (oh, but he wore the actual costume after losing to Wheaton). I bought the biggest size offered (XL) and even though Mom said I looked like a caterpillar, it still looks nice on me.

Sheldon wears his shirts with a long-sleeved undershirt but unfortunately, I do not own one. But then, I thought of wearing my purple polo shirt under the wonder woman tshirt, just for the sake that I would feel like I'm close to being Sheldon.

(Forgive my haughty look. I was trying to give an amused facial expression but the lighting was bad.)

Well, not everyone liked the wonder woman design but they said the style of wearing the polo shirt under the dark purple one was cute. :D

I guess I would have to try maintain that look now and buy more Polo shirts and cool tees.
